Last year at the beginning of 2021, I participated in my first ever ducky exchange with someone in Australia. She mailed me some Australian duckies and I mailed her some Canadian duckies. In addition to the amazing Australian ducky, she sent me this Watermelon rubber ducky and a confetti cupcake rubber ducky too.

Watermelon Ducky is the special ducky of the day for National Rubber Ducky day today.

Last summer, my daughter’s friend gave us this beautiful watermelon painting that she painted in Grade 4. It looks great next to watermelon rubber ducky. There is nothing quite like the sweetest, juiciest, most perfectly ripe watermelon on a hot summer day.

Even though the big group event was cancelled for the Polar Bear Plunge this year,

I did not plunge alone. Constable Canard joined me (he flew in from Montreal).

It was my 7th plunge and her first.

It was 0C, but with the wind chill it felt more like -1. The lagoon had a thin layer

of ice on it and there were a lot of waves too. The ocean felt as refreshing and

breathtaking as ever, but the air was shocking.

Constable Canard is from Montreal and loves her maple syrup

and tobogganing too.
