If you’ve never taken the Edmonton streetcar across the high level bridge then I highly recommend that you give it a try. It’s an inexpensive way to travel downtown but it doesn’t run as often as a bus.

Streetcar Conductor Ducky has been driving the streetcar and punching holes in tickets for 5 years now. You can see the string for his ticket punch hanging out of his left breast jacket pocket. He is retired and it’s a great volunteer job (he also gives his grandkid ducks free rides and let’s them wear his cool hat).

Our house is for sale and since we had two showings today, I thought that Real Estate Ducky was an appropriate post. He has glasses, is wearing a white collared dress shirt and is holding a house model and a brief case. He first started out working on selling show homes and brand new houses but now he mostly sells established residential houses. I am hoping that he will help sell our house. I just started leaving him on our coffee table (this is usually where agents leave their cards after they have brought someone to view our house).

Racer Sunglasses Duckies have been involved in many river races during the day (hence the sunglasses) and at night too (they all glow in the dark). They have each come in first place at least once,but the ducky with the bright pink beak has been first place 3 times! Turquoise and purple beak have each been second place in two different races. They are all great friends and their favourite post race activity is to relax in the hot tub. I want to host or help organize a ducky race sometime.

Daddy, Baby and Cousin Duckies love the outdoors. In the summer they camp, play in the ravine, swim, hike, play with army men outside, grow gardens, ride bikes and rollerblade to the playground. However, their all time favourite summer outdoor activity is to write scripts and make their own home made scary movies in the ravine to show their friends. When the boy and cousin grow up they want to be famous actors. They both take drama in school and are taking an acting camp for 3 weeks in August.

Female Pirate of White Rock Ducky is shown in her white rock garden on her ship. She grows fresh herbs in her garden for making awesome seaweed salads. She is a bathtub water checker ducky. She has the word “HOT”written on her bottom and it lights up if the bath water is too hot. She is wearing an eye patch, red bandana, and she has a large gold hoop earring in her right ear. Her sword is tucked under her right wing. Her father taught her how to use a sword before he passed away and this sword use to be his. Her biggest pet peeve is when people tell her she can’t be a pirate because she’s female. Get with the times people.

I love babies.

Biker Bud Ducky has 6 ducklings of his own. He runs a daycare with human kids for his full-time job. He loves babies and is great at calming them down. He is featured with my son in this picture. My son john is two weeks old today. Biker Ducky has red crosses, white figure 8s and skulls all over his body. I am not sure what is with bikers and skulls but it’s a bit stereotypical to assume that all bikers are into skulls. I know they are a popular paint job on bikes but they can be overdone too. My husband owns two motorcycles but has no skull paraphernalia. Here are some answers of why some bikers like skulls.I am also not sure what the red crosses and 8s mean.

Party for 500.

500 Ducky is named 500 because this is my 500th blog post! To celebrate, he is hosting a party with 500 duckies. It will be grand with ballroom dancing, champagne and chocolate fountains with fruit. At the end of the party, all the duckies are going to swim in the chocolate fountain.

500 Ducky loves cats. His kitty Greyworm is featured in the photo with him. He has 6 cats. Ducky 500 is also a light up ducky so I suspect he might have originally been from the dollarstore.

Puppet and Bath Mitt Duckies

We’re more fun than washcloths.

The bath mitt duckies are very jealous of the finger puppet duckies. They wish that they could go behind the curtain and on a real puppet show stage. Instead, they are stuck in a smelly plastic green container collecting mildew under the bathroom sink. When they do perform, it’s in the tub washing children’s sweaty, sticky sunscreen and sand coated bodies. However, sometimes, they get thrown in the washing machine and dryer which is the equivalent to being thrown into a tornado and is equally uncomfortable.

Non-slip Duckies teach First Aid full-time. The first set of Non-slip duckies resembles a real ducky as opposed to a rubber ducky. The set on the bottom right looks like a generic ducky and the middle set looks like Ernie’s rubber ducky (I don’t know how much this set cost of where it was purchased).. Each set contains 6 duckies and each ducky has a crazy strong suction grip. It takes a lot of effort to peel these puppies off your tub floor.

Not all families lookalike.

My aunt bought my daughter a whole bunch of miscellaneous generic duckies, which are a great addition to our collection (yes, I count her ducks in my collection). However, some of the mommy ducks don't have offspring ducks that perfectly fit on their backs. Usually the mommy ducks have a series of baby ducks that perfectly fit onto their backs. This is not the case with the Adopted Ducky Family. The mommy ducky has a pouty ducky bill. The first child ducky has eyes like a strawberry rhubarb pie with one piece missing. He also has bushy eyebrows. The second ducky has dainty eyelashes and she was adopted second. They run their own photography business. This picture of them on this big rock is for their business cards. I have likely blogged this generic ducky a few times and I probably have a few of her.

We are the Broil Kings trio.

The Second Act Carnival Duckies are part of the Carnival Duckies and are part of the travelling circus. However, they became separated during a tornado and have not reunited with the test of the circus yet, so they have had their own show going on the side. The two headed duckies walk on tight ropes and eat fire sticks. Lucky Ducky has an amazing arm and can throw a baseball huge distances. His act involves throwing balls to break bottles from a thousands of feet away.

During their travels they met Traffic Cop Ducky and had him over for supper to their tent one night. They had a few steaks, lobsters and beers and realized their love for barbecuing and that they all have Broil King barbecues.

3000 Ducky

3000 Ducky is the Ducky of the future. He lives with a family of 4. He is super efficient and performs the full-time jobs of the parents while they go to the beach all day. Their employers are okay with this. He grocery shops, cooks, cleans, does laundry and performs a multitude of other tasks as requested. He is always friendly but some people find his teeth a bit creepy.

These Twin Mommy Ducks with Their Babies have likely not be paired with their original babies. Although, these baby ducks do perfectly fit in the circle on their mommy's backs. These duckies love rock climbing and they collect rocks too. Part of their collection is shown in the picture. The two baby ducks are identical except one of them has a yellow beak with a pink tongue and one of them has a red beak.

We are so cute.

Innocent Ducky has an expression on her face that says "Whaaaaat Me? I would never do that." This expression is reinforced by having her wing resting on her beak. The feathers on her head look super soft and downy like a baby duck. The same little fuzzy feathers are on her tail too. She has eyes that can well up with tears in a second. She Looks more like a rubber birdy than a rubber ducky.

Ready, set, go

Every Sunday this Daddy and his two sons organize two webbed swimming races at the pond. They often win. Two webbed means that two ducks tie one of each of their webbed feet together so it's a three legged swimming race. These duckies are fairly generic but have nicely shaped orange beaks and close set eyes. For Father's Day the ducklings made their Dad breakfast in bed and wrote him a poem.

Pink Sailorhat Ducky is the love of my life.

Coconut shrimp with mango chutney was the love of my life until I met Pink Sailorhat Ducky. She is amazing. For our one month anniversary, I made her a straw hat just like mine. At the end of our fall sailing trip, I am going to propose to her (after I make her a meal of coconut shrimp). I made her a ring out of sea glass and hemp strings.

When I was a child, I was in ballet and wore a mauve tutu for one of my performances. Mauve was my favourite colour. Mauve Ballerina Ducky reminds me of my ballet days. She is dressed for a performance and is wearing her mother's pearls. You can see her webbed feet sticking out from under the back of her dress and a puffy layer of lace sticking out from under her tutu dress. This summer she is in a Midsummer Ducky's Dream.

Pink Sailorhat Ducky has always been a lone sailor and enjoyed her solo adventures. However, everything changed when she met Tropical Ducky. They fell in love while visiting Patmos Island in Greece. They are going to sail together for the rest of the summer and visit various islands with monkeys and palm trees. In the fall they are planning on continuing their journey through the Caribbean.

South Carolina Surfer Girl Ducky

Myrtle Beach is my favourite.

The first and only time I have tried surfing was at Myrtle Beach in 2006. I was there for a work trip and had a day off. I should have got lessons because It was very challenging and I had a hard time standing on the board in the water. I also left my shoes and beach bag too close to the water and had to rescue my left shoe from way down the beach.

South Carolina Surfer Girl Ducky has been teaching surf lessons for 10 years and recently started competing, but hasn't won any competitions yet. She prefers longboard surfing and orange is her favourite colour. She also owns an orange longboard skateboard.

Soccer is dangerous. 

Concussion and Broken Arm Ducky received both of her injuries while playing soccer. Her and another player collided and it did not end well for her. She also had to have a shot of pain killer in her bum. The red X marks the spot. She thought that an afternoon out in the garden smelling the lilacs might help her feel better. It helped that there was also soccer game that she could see from the garden.

Souffle Chef Ducky can create the best desserts. He excels at deep frying and at using a pastry torch. At the age of 9, his great grandfather taught him how to make desserts. He went to culinary school with Sauce Chef Ducky and they have managed to remain friends even though one day they may be competitors on Iron Ducky Chef.

Sauce Chef Ducky believes that sauce can either make or break a dish. He enjoys playing racquet ball on the weekend with his best friend Souffle Chef Ducky.

Some people are scared of us.

Butterflies are so pretty and graceful, but also seem rare unless you visit an indoor or outdoor botanical garden. I have been trying to be more selective when I see a set of 4 almost identical duckies especially in the Oriental Trading Company brand usual sets of 4. However, I couldn’t pass up getting all the butterflies. My favourite is the blue one. The blue and red Butterfly Ducks have polka dots on their wings. The green Butterfly Ducky has a lighter green shading of wing tips. Whereas the purple Butterfly Ducky has solid purple wings. Each ducky has antennas that match her wings.

The Classic Red Devil Ducky 

Ready to party.

The Fiery Red Devil Ducky is the first and classic Devil Ducky. He is also the only devil ducky that I have seen that has red pupils instead of black pupils. He loves dressing up for parties with his best friend Icy Blue Devil Ducky. These are the first two devil duckies that I bought and I bought them in the year 2000 so they probably cost a lot more to buy today.

I’m a bit of an ugly duckling.

Chubby Squirter Ducky is just a baby and I think that’s why she is so chubby. I am not a huge fan of this ducky because she’s rather ugly and funny looking, but I think someone else bought her for my collection. I know she is also available in yellow and a few other colours too. Don’t get me wrong. I am still glad she is part of my collection, but I am starting to get a bit more selective of which ducks I buy now that I have so many. There are also a lot of generic ducks that are very similar. You will see this in my blog posts for this month.

Born today (D-day)

Today is the due date for our second baby, but our baby will arrive when he or she is ready to arrive. These two baby duckies were born today. They have their mom’s eyes, eyelashes and eyebrows. However, the babies don’t have their eyelashes coloured black so it’s hard to see them. The mommy can fit one baby on her back but unlike most ducky mommy and baby sets, she doesn’t have a rounded back that is designed to carry the duckies.

The square cube container shown in this post is Russ brand and is perfect for storing small items on a baby’s dresser. It says A, B and C on the sides of the container. I bought it at Kid’s Stuff and My Favourite Aunt’s.

Everyone needs a ducky bucket.

This Ducky Bucket was used for playing a ducky toss game at my daughter’s first birthday party. It’s a metal bucket and would also look nice with a plant in it or a chilled bottle of wine. My daughter enjoys filling the bucket up with duckies. She also loves wearing the ducky slippers that she has on in this picture. I am not sure how much the ducky slippers cost or where they came from because they were a gift. The stuffed ducky sitting on the stairs is also her favourite and was featured in the Stuffy Ducks post.

Ying Yang Devil Ducky has been teaching yoga for 10 years. She teaches a ying class which is holding poses for a few minutes at a time. Her left eye with the white centre is a bit creepy. Knights of the round table.

The first ducky Camelot Knight is rumoured to have had an affair with Queen Guinevere Ducky. Camelot Knight is head of the round table and is King Arthur’s first knight. He is holding a shield and an axe. King Arthur and Queen Guinevere were two of the first 50 or so ducks in my collection. I also purchased them before the Pirates of the Pond because they are an entire dollar cheaper. King Arthur and Queen Guinevere’s Royal Prince son is 10 years old. he has quite the red tongue and sometimes Queen Guinevere Ducky wonders if he looks more like the Camelot Knight or King Arthur.

Every Sunday night the family and of course Camelot Knight watch the Game of Thrones together. They have also read all the books.

Pirates of the Pond Duckies

Quack Matie.

The two pirate duckies on the left are Schylling brand and are from Elephants Never Forget. They are some of the first duckies that I purchased and I used to go to this neat store in the 124th street area in Edmonton quite often for duckies. They also had a large assortment of other toys too. The first ducky in the blue pirate hat is holding a sword in his right wing. The sword matches the sword on his hat. The second ducky is holding a gun in his right wing and is missing his left eye from an accident when he was fighting the first pirate ducky.

The third ducky is the son of the second ducky and he wears a patch on the same eye to look cool like his Dad. He is Oriental Trading Company brand and is from the Old Strathcona Farmer’s market. The last ducky is a squirter pirate ducky for the tub and he wears his eye patch to avoid getting water in his right eye. Each day he changes up which eye the patch is on. He is from the US and I bought him during a business trip.

Ring Bearer and Flower Girl Ducky are very excited to be part of their parents' wedding. They love dressing up and love dancing. Flower Girl Ducky is in Jazz, tap and ballet. Ring Bearer Ducky has amazing piano skills and has played at many recitals and with the symphony. They are twins but Flower Girl Ducky is technically 2 minutes older.
