In June 2010, during a weekend motorcycle trip to Lake Louise, I found Showering in a Waterfall Ducky in Jasper. He is wearing his shower cap and is holding the shower head. I love the perimeter of bubbles all around him.

Showering in a Waterfall Ducky loves waterfalls. He has been to Niagara falls and he quite likes Athabasca falls. He prefers tiny waterfalls so that he can shower in them and the only water he drinks is from waterfalls. He has never been sick from drinking glacier fed or snow fed waterfalls.

Breathe in, Breathe out.

I always thought it would be fun to be part of “doctors without borders.” I have travelled and volunteered a few times. Once in the Philippines and once on the way to Disneyland as part of a youth group trip. I want to travel with our kids and do volunteer trips. It’s nice to help people and learn about new cultures.

The Ducktor on the left is used to working in the dark, so that is why he is holding a flashlight in one hand and his stethoscope in the other. The duck on the right has quite the stick out wings and is wearing his stethoscope around his neck. Both ducks have the funny old-fashioned mirror headbands.

1, 2, 3 paddle

While I was in Jasper on the weekend, we visited our favourite place, Horseshoe Lake. The lake was flooded from all the rain and the melting of the glaciers. The owner of the Bed and Breakfast where we stayed said that the lakes and rivers haven’t been this full in Jasper for 30 years.   However, there were still many people cliff diving and a different parts of the lake (since the water was even deeper). We used to cliff dive too until my husband’s friend dislocated his shoulder!

Cop Ducky is cute and friendly looking. He is in an all navy blue uniform which almost covers him from head to toe. You can see his face sticking out and his yellow beak and that is it. He has a ducky badge on his shirt and his hat. He is proud to keep the ducky streets safe all over his city.

I love Athabasca Falls in Jasper!

My husband and I took his motorcycle to Jasper for one night on the weekend. It was my daughter’s first night away from us. She did wake up once in the night asking for us. However, she had a great time with her grandparents. We stayed in a fabulous bed and breakfast and I picked up two new Bud ducks from the toy store in Jasper.

Construction Ducky has a great hard hat. It’s realistic looking with its tiny grooves and little dots on the side for air flow. He is all brown and is wearing a tank top. The only tool in his belt is a hammer. His box says “Going at it hammer and tongs.” However, the tongs are missing from his toolbelt. His box also says “Community Carnival”on the side so I am guessing that he is part of this set.

Funny bone.

X-RAY ducky is one big black shadow except for his white bones, beak, eyes and head. This is the only skeleton ducky that I have, which is surprising given the number of Halloween ducks that are available. His box says “give a duck a bone.” He is part of the Bud 80s pop culture collection.

I am floating.

My husband went on a 5 day father’s day motorcycle trip with his Dad last week. They went to Lake Louise, Toad Rock, Golden and Jasper. My husband went rubber duck hunting at every stop and he managed to find a store that carried rubber ducks in Jasper. He also found a store in a small town in B.C. that had a few ducks. I am so spoiled.

Cloud 9 Ducky is turquoise with white clouds and blue, violet, orange and yellow rainbows patterned over her body. There are a few colours in the roygbiv spectrum missing from her rainbows. She has black and white eyes and a yellow beak. Bud ducks are quite expensive but $6.00 for the mini bud ducks is quite pricey when the bigger Bud ducks are usually $10.00 but the prices probably keep rising. Her box says: “There’s a silver lining behind every cloud and a rainbow after every storm.
