Michaels has had a few ducky sets these past few months. There was a Back to School set in August and now a Halloween set. Meet Hippy (the ghost and my receipt said Hippy rubber ducky, Franky (my receipt said Frankenstein's Monster), Witchy (my receipt said witch duck, Skely (my receipt said Skeleton), and Midnight (my receipt said cat).

I have a lot of Halloween duckies. I'll have to count to see if my Easter or Christmas themed duckies wins for the most duckies in a particular theme.

different size and I am happy for Michaels and Creatology and their endless

Last year I bought a package of 10 of these mini duckies in red and pink. This year I bought another package so that I could have the cute turquoise rubber ducky too. This size of ducky works well in snow globes or for any craft project. Vday mini duckies love making homemade Valentine’s for their friends.

I just bought this duck from Michaels two weeks ago and I was surprised to see that they were sold out of the Monster ducks, so I never bought the last one in the set. The west end store has a great selection of toys for themed birthday parties. One of the themes was mustaches. There were mustache necklaces and mustaches on sticks. It is definitely a theme that I have never considered for a kids party.

Pink Mustache Ducky is a fantastic Italian chef. You should really try her cooking sometime. She has a black curly thick mustache and thinks that perhaps she should have waxed more. She has 3 friends with mustaches that come in yellow, blue and purple.

Nickname: Medusa

The pink and blue HyperHead ducks are great stress relievers. You can stretch their hair insanely far. I have never had it snap. However, I have had them stick together before, but they are easy to restore if you put baking powder or talcum powder on them and you can give them a quick rinse with water and mild soap.

I lost the tag for the pink ducky but I have the tag for the blue ducky. His name is HyperHead Darryl and here is his story: “Darryl the Duck is soooo cool! Born under the sign of Aquarius, he’s happiest when he’s outside,enjoying the sunlight on a hot day. The Light Up Squishy Head Ducky is cheaper than the HyperHead ducks but he does light up and he doesn’t feel like he could stretch as far.

Purple Many Eyeballs Ducky has has 3 teeth that are below his beak, so he actually has two mouths. He has 6 eyeballs, two tentacles on his head and 6 octopus tentacles for arms and legs. He loves turtles and watching the baby turtles hatch in the Spring. 

Red Furry Monster Ducky also has a double chin and loves to eat. His claws are resting on his tummy because he just finished a huge meal of salmon and samosas. He loves curry and any food from Boston Pizza. He also loves listening rock and alternative music.

The darker pink ducky is XOXO ducky. She hugs all her friends and family and also kisses people on their left and right cheeks too. She loves cuddling. One of her favourite movies is “What to expect when expecting.” She saw this movie in the theater with her pale pink to mauvish ducky friend Kiss Me. They have been friends since college and enjoy watching movies together and scrapbooking. Licorice and popcorn are their favourite movie watching foods. They also love Five Alive juice.

Michaels has Valentine’s ducks and they are pretty cool. Cupid Ducky is all white and actually has hands. She has an arrow in one hand and her bow in the other. Her bow and arrow are purple and she has little white wings. It has been said that she has even helped satan fall in love.

Satan Ducky is all red except for his black eyes and pitch fork and of course his orange beak. He likes it hot and enjoys roasting marshmallows and wieners on his pitch fork. He has a crush on Cupid Ducky.

My aunt just informed me yesterday that Michaels has a cupid ducky and a Valentine’s devil ducky. I am scheduling a trip to Michaels this week. Get your duckies while they last. Football Fanatic Ducky is also from Michaels, but he is not the Michaels brand of ducky and looks like most generic ducks.

Football Fanatic Ducky is so into football that he asked a witch to turn him into a football. He has the grip of a football all over his body except for his wings and his beak. So, feel free to toss him around just as you would a football. A baseball ducky and a basketball ducky are also available at Michaels, but I already own quite a few basketball and baseball duckies so I didn’t purchase these two.

I make the best crumpets.

One-eyed Monster Ducky is my best friend and he is right, I do make the best crumpets. The second best thing that I can bake is my key lime cake. Key lime cake goes great with key lime or coconut tea. One-eyed Monster Ducky is also great at having tea parties, but I have the fancy silver tea set. I also make the best tiny sandwiches that are served at high tea. I can even cut them into rubber ducky shapes.

I am 20% rubber ducky and 80% monster. My father was a green monster and my mother was a rubber duck. Therefore, instead of having ducky wings, I have arms with claws on the end. I can also use my claw-winged arms to fly.

Before you even ask, yes, I can see perfectly fine out of one eye. It’s really no different than you seeing out both of your eyes. I am a soft fuzzy, loving monster. My favourite word is “Ooogley.” Sometimes when I say it, I scare other rubber ducks. However, I don’t mean to. I am really quite friendly. Claw-Winged Monster Ducky is my best friend and we love to have tea parties together. He likes to serve high tea and he makes the best crumpets.

I went back to Michaels again and I managed to find one more Christmas ducky. I even checked a store on the West end hoping to find more Christmas ducks, but they didn’t have any left. However, I did manage to find sports ducks and monster ducks that you’ll get to see this week.

Joy Pom Pom Toque Ducky is all pink and has the word “JOY!” written across each wing. She is wearing a green toque with blue pom poms. The Michaels ducks have really pointy orange beaks. I did a Google images search and saw a blue “Peace” Michaels ducky that looked similar to Joy Pom Pom Toque Ducky and there was also a reindeer ducky too.

My daughter received Penguin Present Ducky as a Christmas gift on boxing day. She received it a few hours after I bought her Pom Pom Toque ducky. These two Christmas duckies are a great addition to our tree. I just wish I had found them before Christmas so I could have bought the entire set. I am going to check the other Michaels in Edmonton to see if I can find any other ducks in the set.

Cats attack my pom poms.

I love finding ducks in unexpected places. On boxing day, I was in Michaels buying scrapbooks for half price (awesome deal) and I found Pom Pom Toque Ducky. He was sitting alone in a huge bin of toys. I scrounged through every bin but he was the only rubber ducky left and he was on sale for an amazing price too. I purchased the Baby bib ducks from Michaels and they still have them in the baby shower area. I didn’t know that they sold seasonal ducks. The lady at the till told me they had Halloween duckies too. I am sure there are more ducks in the Christmas set. I would love to collect them all. Does anyone own the other duckies or has anyone seen them?

Ducky Buttons from Michaels

Fascinated by fastening.

I took Home Economics in highschool but I was a terrible sewer. Even on the sewing machine, I could not sew a straight line. The sunflower and black and white check boxer shorts that I made have one leg longer than the other. I bought satin material to make a skirt and the sewing machine snagged it. I ended up paying a seamstress to finish it for me and she said: “This material is not for beginners.” However, I have always been and still am good at sewing on buttons. I used to make bracelets out of buttons by sewing them onto a thick elastic band. I think that this is what helped me to become an expert button sewer.

My favourite buttons here are the buttons on the far left because they look the most like a rubber ducky. The bubbles are also neat and the plain yellow ducks. The outline duck at the very top looks like the ducks you would see on that old classic duck and goose wallpaper in country kitchens.

Hut Ducky is quarterback on his High School football team. His bill is protected by his large blue helmet. The oversized football stuffed under his right wing cause him to waddle towards the right, but his waddle is super fast waddle and has helped him score many touchdowns. There is a hole in his helmet so that he can squirt water in the tub. He is a trooper and plays football through every season including the winter.

It’s awesome to get rubber ducks on sale or to find coupons. Once I saw the rubber ducks at Michaels, I went back with two 40% off coupons that I found online. My husband was a kind enough sport to come with me and purchase the Baby boy bib duck while I bought the girl (the coupon was only good for one item).

My husband purchased this duck for me at Michael’s on our way to see the movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I was busy purchasing the Baby Girl Bib duck. I love bibs.

My best friend Erin (who also collects rubber ducks) was visiting me over the New Years break this year. We were in Michael’s and found some ducky buttons and we found baby shower ducks that we don’t have. We didn’t buy them because we thought they were a bit pricey. However, we completely lucked out by waiting. We were in Value Village and came across a bag of 4 baby boy rubber ducks for $1.00.

Mini baby boy bib duck sports a blue baseball cap and has tiny eyes and eyebrows that are perpetually raised. He is also wearing a white bib that says BABY in blue lettering. He would make a great baby shower gift or giveaway. Being a duck collector, I always give rubber ducks to newborn babies in our family.
