He has been flung from planes a few times and manages to latch on to a branch and then climb down. He is wearing goggles, a scarf and a helmet because he often rides in planes with no roof or windshield.

I love running and no socks look cooler than ducky socks when you are running a 5k. The little duckies wrap around my ankles and can be seen peeking over the top of my running shoes. The blue pair is made for sports because it has a double layer to prevent chaffing, blisters and it wicks the sweat away from your feet too. The other pair of ducky socks are just regular socks. However, some of the duckies on these socks are sleeping and some of them are awake. These socks are nice but are rather thin.

They were both super skinny and had lots of zits. They started training for track and field together and have been friends ever since then.

Mini Cyclist Ducky wants to grow up to be just like his Dad, Cyclist Ducky. He has already been in a few triathlons and wants to do tour de France when he is old enough.

Mini Fireman Ducky is wearing a heavy hose around his neck. He has always dreamed of being a fireman. He once put out a fire that he started in a trash can at school. Venice is pretty at night.

Auntie and Niece White Duckies have travelled many places together. They have been to Tuscany, Milan and Venice as well as Australia, Jamaica and Curaco. The Auntie ducky is on the left and she glows in the dark. During a night time Gondola ride in Venice people could see her glowing from 20 Km away. Next on their travel list is New York. Niece ducky wants to buy some designer shoes in New York.

Mini Camo Keychain Duckies love building snowmen and snowducks. They collect anything and everything that has to do with snowmen. They enjoy the winter theme but try not to have the Christmas decorations out all year. These duckies are friends with and are the same brand as 4 Leaf Clover Ducky.

We wish we were lost at sea-what an adventure that would be.

These plastic ducks remind me of the book Moby Duck that I read a few years ago. None of these ducks are the plastic ducks that Donovan Hohn was in search of but the yellow ducks look similar. After I read the book, I looked up the ducks that he was searching for on ebay and they were quite basic looking. It would still be neat to own one though.

The blue plastic ducky is rather ancient looking. It would be nice if he had a year printed on the bottom, so I could find out if he is really old or just well loved. Blue duck’s story is that he is both old and well loved by his 10 grandducks and 2 great grandducks. The yellow ducky on the left was made in Thailand and is married to the yellow ducky on the right. They met in Phuket and went to Bangkok for their honeymoon.

Spraying, dumping, squirting-spray park!

Colourful Generic Trio Duckies have been friends since preschool and they are all going into grade 6 next year. They love hanging out at the spray parks in the summer. Every day they pack a picnic lunch and go the spray park. They love the spinning palm tree that rains buckets of water on them as they spin it, the turtles that shoot water out of their mouths and the little buckets that pour out a litre of water as soon as they are full. They wish summer could last forever. The purple ducky is a colour changing ducky and turns pink in warm water.

College Sweethearts

Couple Duckies have been dating for one year. They are 21 and met at a toga party in College. For their one year anniversary, Stuart, bought Diane the large pink heart necklace that she is wearing. He plans to purchase the matching earrings and ring for future anniversaries. Diane took him out for a nice supper at their favourite restaurant.

Jester Street Performer Ducky makes his living juggling sticks on fire and a baton. His costume is red and purple and he has a purple star tattoo on his left wing and little flags above his left eye. He has been juggling since he was a wee duck and started out juggling apples and then balls. He will be at the Edmonton Fringe Festival this year so watch for him as he travels across Canada to various fringes and downtown squares.


The official name as printed on the bottom of this ducky is “copyright Jester Duek.” I am thinking that this must be a typo or was it printed on the bottom of all this style of ducky? He also has number ASI-37170 on his bottom.

Ball Cap Duckies idolize Luke Perry and never missed an episode of him as Dylan McKay on “Beverly Hills 90210.” They own posters that he signed for them. The big Ball Cap Ducky is the Grandpa. His son is Sunridge Mall Ducky and the mini backwards ball cap ducky is Sunridge Mall Duck’s son. Mini backwards ball cap ducky loves playing soccer with his Dad and baseball with his Grandpa. He also has a bit of too cool attitude in him.

Does anyone use bath salts anymore?

Tub Bug Rubber DuckyTM is the only rubber ducky bath salt dispenser I have ever seen. I got him for Christmas quite a few years ago from one of my friends. I have never actually tried him out because I don’t have any bath salts at the moment.

Tub Bug Rubber DuckyTM loves scents. The fruitier, more flowery and smellier the bath salts the better. His favourite scent is chocolate coconut lime. Yummy!

Stop bullies.

Trio of Pink Duckies started an anti-bullying program in their school this year. They created pink hats and sweatshirts as part of the campaign. They also created pink ducky inner tubes for floating down rivers. The ducky in the middle of the picture is wearing an inner tube. The Department 56 ducky (first ducky on the left) was bullied as a child because she was not a typical looking ducky. The ducky on the far right is a light up ducky. Once she is activated she glows for a long time.

California Surfer Ducky is a squirter ducky. She loves surfing and always seems to have a bit of wake following her. She has a red surfboard, jeep and beach towel. She really wanted red goggle prescription sunglasses too but they only had blue. She just started stand up paddle boarding with one of her surfboards and she really enjoys it. It has become quite popular this year.

Ninja Mummy Ducky is a super hero among ducks. His mummy cloth is armour and it can repel anything and everything. Underneath his armour is his green ninja suit which brings him good luck during fights. You can see it covering his eyes, tail and his toes. He protects innocent people and listens to his police scanner to try to prevent crime and get to a scene before the police ducks arrive.

 I’ve been hit.

When Sitting Clothes pin Ducky isn’t being used to secure clothes to a clothesline or for target practice for water guns, he likes to spin and jump from high bar to high bar. He dreams of competing in the Ducklympics one day. The most painful hit he has ever taken was when kids threw rocks at him during a birthday party. He has also endured paintballs hitting him as well as large bouncy balls. Thankfully his hit side never takes a beating. I’d love to have a whole bunch of these on my clothesline but they are too pricey to own more than one. However, they are a really cool idea and it only takes one to make your laundry stand out.

Royal Guard Ducky loves when it is time to change guards. He is often involved in the huge ceremony for the changing of the guards. He is proud to say he has never even once blinked while on duty. Many tourist duckies who visit Buckingham Palace try to get him to blink and madly wave their arms in front of him. One ducky even ran up to him and gave him such a forceful hug that he almost fell right over. It was a close call. It takes a lot of stamina and concentration to stand that still. While on duty, he has also written entire stories in his head (he has a good memory).

1970s DJ Ducky is a dump truck driver by day and DJ by night. Her favourite colours are pink and orange and she loves to dance. Her orange and pink star headphones are her favourite possession and she even listens to music while driving her dump truck.

East Coast Ducky is from Nova Scotia and so is my daughter’s dress. My husband’s family is from Nova Scotia. When I was in high school, I was in the play Anne of Green Gables and I was Marilla. My Grandma taught me how to knit for the part. East Coast Ducky currently lives in PEI and works at the Anne of Green Gables house.

Dungeness Crab is the best.

Crab Loving Ducky loves to eat crab and has been a fisherman for a number of years. His favourite crab that he fishes for most often is the Dungeness crab. This type of crab is caught using a cylinder trap called a pot. These crabs can be anywhere from 30 to 300 feet below the ocean.

Crab Loving Ducky is featured with my son, John because Crab Loving Ducky was attracted to the orange crab on my son’s shirt. Crab Loving Ducky has inquisitive eyebrows, an orange beak and a wavy orange wing.

I’ve been to hell and back.

Goatee Devil Ducky burned off his eyebrows once and they grew back insanely archey like a mountain. Thanks to his goatee his nickname has become “goat.” He combs his goatee daily and often finds food stuck in it or knots. He is the only ducky I have ever seen with a goatee.

Invcare sells wheelchairs and home care items. Invacare Ducky looks like an antique brand of ducky based on the shape of her cheeks, eyes colouring, tail and wings. She is proud to advertise for the company that she works for. The two tiny generic duckies enjoy flying Strawberry Shortcake wherever she needs to go. Strawberry Shortcake curls these two duckies eyelashes. The ducky on the right with the pacman eyes and eyebrows is best friends with lemon and raspberry.

Have you ever put a ducky in the dishwasher? I haven’t. With all the controversy around heating plastic in microwaves and dishwashers or freezing food in plastic containers, I couldn’t imagine actually putting a rubber ducky into the dishwasher. However, on the bottom of this ducky, it says “Dishwasher Safe top rack only.” I can’t imagine rubber duckies getting dirty enough to need to go into the dishwasher. Duckies belong in a sudsy bubble bath.

3, 403 km - tour de France

As a wee ducky, I rode my sister’s tricycle for my first bike (the bike I am on in the picture). I rode her bike because my family couldn’t afford to buy another tricycle for the boy in the family. Her two wheel bike was red and I had the training wheels off the second time I rode it.

I have always enjoyed biking. I have cycled in the tour de France for the past 3 years. I have also biked in the 6 day Canadian Rockies bike tour. My bike is my transportation and I don’t have an off season. I am always training and always taking my bike somewhere. Next year, he is going to spend 5 years biking around the world.

Ernie’s Ducky 2.0 is well worn. This may be Ernie’s actual ducky (instead of this one) because as my husband pointed out this ducky’’s head is tilted to the side and so was Ernie’s ducky’s head. Ernie’s Ducky 2.0 has been trying to escape from Sesame Street for a number of years now. He is sick of bathing with Ernie and being squeezed all the time. He tried hanging out in the shower with Bert once but that really peeved Ernie off. Once he tried to hide in a garbage can to escape but it turned out to be Oscar’s garbage can and Oscar brought him back.

Framing beautiful people.

It’s amazing how many ducky photo frames are available. The first ducky frame has little plastic duckies on the end of metal bars. This is the first ducky photo frame that I bought and I can’t remember where I bought it from. The second ducky frame has also been around a while because it contains a picture of my best friend and I from Junior high school. The third frame also contains a picture of my best friend and I at the beach. This is my same best friend that collects rubber ducks. The fourth frame contains a picture of my daughter when she was a baby. I bought this frame from a specialty toy store in the 124 street area. The last frame is not a ducky frame but it contains my ducky business cards. My husband did a photoshoot of some of my duckies for my business cards. I advertise this blog on the cards too.

Lip Gloss Duckies

At least we are scented. 

My aunt works at the U of A hospital and discovered these lip gloss duckies on one of her lunch breaks. They are overpriced for the amount of lip gloss that you get. The bottom of the duck flips open and there is about two teaspoons of lip gloss. The yellow ducky with the daisies on it is Citrus Burst and it contains an orange sparkly lip gloss. The pink ducky with the red hearts is Sweet Berry and she contains a pink sparkly lip gloss. However, these lip glosses are more like chaptstick because there is no colour, shine or sparkle to them once they are on your lips. I really bought these duckies for the creative containers and the not the lip gloss.

You can collect all 5 duckies. There is also Chocolate Mint which is a white ducky in a tuxedo, Berry Cherry which is a red duck with black dots and Cupcake Party which is a white ducky with multi-coloured polka dots.
