For Christmas, my husband bought me a rubber duck that looks like me. My hair isn’t currently styled like hers but I have layers and glasses just like this ducky. Green is my favourite colour and it is Dreamer’s favourite colour too. If I could design a Serena rubber duck this is what she would look like. Although, I would have made her glasses green too. It would be very cool if there was a store or website where you could design a rubber duck that looks like you.

It all started when we went for the 2nd Annual Langford Trolley Christmas Light tour. We were viewing the many blown up Christmas decorations on people’s lawns and I saw a hockey player. I thought hmm if they make hockey players I wonder if they make rubber ducks. On Saturday, I did a quick search on the Internet and found this blow up Christmas duck at Lowe’s. However, there is only one Lowe’s in BC and it is on the mainland. They did not ship to Victoria and they only had one ducky left in stock.

Colin knew what had to be done. He hopped on his Ural and caught the next ferry to the mainland. He brought our 9.5 foot ducky home on his motorcyle and we set her up in the living room. Alicia named her Lisa. Tonight we moved her outside. During the set up, two of our neighbours came over to admire her. Now I just have to sew her a few other hats so she can stay on our lawn year round….

Boston Red Sox Ducky loves pitching. He can throw balls at 100 mph so look out. He helped win the game last night against the Minnesota Twins. It was my first American baseball game last night. I wondered if I would find a Boston Red Sox rubber ducky and I was ecstatic when I did. I was expecting some sort of a 7th inning show or a mascot dance or something (like when I went to Trappers games as a kids). However, they did sing two songs, but I was expecting more. It was interesting to watch and I learned lots about baseball.

Basket and Hatching Duckies were given to our kids for Easter by their auntie and uncle. They are 2014 rubber duckies and their official names are “Bunny Ears Duck” and Hatching Egg Duck. The ducky in the purple basket holding 3 Easter eggs in orange, blue, and pink. Happy Easter and Easter egg hunting.

Which one of these ears is not like the other ones?

A few Friday nights ago, I had a successful and unplanned rubber ducky shopping evening. I stopped into PetSmart to buy food and treats for our cat. Next to the checkout was a huge bin of squeaker rubber ducky chew toys for dogs. I bought two of them. I bought the ducky in the pink Easter egg and the ducky dressed as a bunny holding the pink Easter egg. On my receipt, I received a coupon for $3.00 off my next purchase, so I went back and bought the ducky holding the blue Easter egg with blue ears and the ducky holding the Easter basket. I have the mini version of these duckies too.

During my same shopping, evening, I went to the DollarTree and found Cottontail. It is amazing how many models of Easter rubber duckies exist.

Pink Easter ears are the best

Pastel Duckies love Easter. Every year, instead of dying eggs, they dye their beaks. Yellow ducky dyes her beak bright pink and blue ducky dyes her beak light pink.They also grab a loofah and polish and exfoliate their bodies to a beautiful shimmery glow. The yellow ducky quacks and lights up. She has a flower shaped cut out on her tail for the sound to come through. She also has a trapdoor under her so her batteries can be replaced.The blue ducky lights up but once he runs out of juice there is no way to replace his batteries.

The sail boat featured in this blog post is my Valentine’s Day gift from my husband and my daughter. They made it out of driftwood and leftover rubber ducky material from blankets that my Grandma made for my daughter when she was little. Homemade gifts are the best. Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone.

Bread Basket Ducky works full-time as a bread delivery ducky. She delivers bread mostly to the elderly who find it too far to swim across the pond for fresh bread. She is hoping to have her own bread shop one day.

Transportation Duckies complete any kids’ bedroom decor. We recently bought my son a sailboat toddler bed off usedvictoria.com, so the sailboat ducky is a nice touch to his room. The sailboat ducky is on the far right. If you look at it for too long, it looks like a tug boat. The middle ducky is the train ducky. His favourite colour is red. He has been on trains all over the world. Plane Ducky can fly commercial jets but prefers to fly his small 3 passenger planes. Transportation duckies are a set of 4 with Red Car Ducky.
