Every time we are in Vancouver visiting family, we try to do at least one tourist activity. This weekend my husband found a restaurant that sells rubber ducks. They have a duck pond with “donated ducks” too. I really wanted to have some of these ducks donated to my collection. I saw a few Harrods ducks. I didn’t know Harrods has ducks. I went to this store in England in 2009 but I didn’t see any ducks. I’ve heard of hotels giving out ducks when you stay with them but this was the first restaurant that I have visited that sells rubber ducks. I wonder if ducks are catching on in the airline business. If you fly first class with Lufthansa airlines you receive a rubber ducky.

Tomahawk Ducky is number 898 in my collection. The pattern on her vest looks like part of a map and some parts are shaped like dinosaurs. She has two black feathers in her head piece.

Tomahawk Barbecue has good diner style food - nothing spectacular. It was neat that they have a hamburger with a hot dog on it. I had the steak and mushroom pie which was delicious. Their brunch looked popular and the restaurant is kid friendly.

Easter Flowers

“Ahh...who ate my ear?”

I love seeing duckies at Easter time (not be be confused with the many chicks that are out there). Amazingly enough, every Easter, I manage to find another Easter rubber ducky that I don’t have. I have 17 Easter rubber duckies in total now.

There are 4 chocolate Easter bunny duckies in this set. The ducks with the pink and blue bows are missing ears. The yellow (not shown in the pic) and green bow duckies have their ears intact. The Missing Ear Chocolate Bunny duckies are very realistic. You can see the distinctive teeth marks in the bite. We are expecting Baby Beck 3 in May this year. I was hoping there would be a new Boon ducky for our third baby, but I don’t think there will be. Bob attended Alicia’s birth and Bob 2.0 attended John’s birth. Therefore, I decided these duckies would be special enough and shiny enough for our third baby’s birth.

My aunt bought me these duckies. They look a bit like Ernie’s ducky.

Other information on the box: “These Couture Rubber Ducks bring high fashion and fun to a bath while showing how stylish you are! For decorative use only. For adult use only.” I find it really funny that these ducks are for adult use only. I mean they don’t have any small parts and rubber ducks are usually toys and are meant to be played with. I am guessing they must not be Phthalate free then.

When we returned from vacation this month, I was ecstatic to open a present in the mail from our friend in Finland. She sent me Finland Ducky. Finland Ducky’s favourite place to tour is the rock church . He is white and blue and is a nice classic looking rubber duck. I think every country should have an official rubber ducky. It is the best souvenir to collect while travelling.

Resort Living Duckies

We love living in the Riu Palace. 

On the bottom of the ducks it says "Funny Toys Mexico." I am thinking that this means the ducks weren't made in China which is pretty rare for a rubber duck. They aren't the best quality because they are quite cracked on the bottom.

Pirate ducky has a big silver hoop in his right ear, a sword under his right wing and an eye patch on his left eye. Football ducky is wearing a silver helmet and has a football tucked under her right wing. The fire person ducky has a hose under her right wing and an axe under her left wing.

These duckies enjoy their ritzy lifestyle. They are served drinks poolside and beachside 24 hours a day. Every time they enter the dining hall they receive a standing ovation and royalty treatment. This is what life at the palace is all about.

Quakers Ducky

Is there a duck in the room?

When I bought Quackers I thought he was a whistle. When you blow into him he loudly make a noise that is a cross between a duck and a kazoo. You can imagine just how loud it is in a small echoing hotel room in an all inclusive resort.

Quackers works part time taking tourists whale watching. He sounds his quacker every time a whale is spotted.
